  9. ARCHandler  is  a filesystem that allows you to use lha-archives as if they
  10. where directories. The files in the archives can be used like normal files:
  11. you can read, view and/or execute them.
  12.  
  13. ARCHandler  currently requires an Amiga running Kickstart/Workbench 2.04 or
  14. newer  and  1Meg  of  memory. Although ARCHandler works with floppydisks, a
  15. harddisk is recommended.
  16.  
  17. To  extract  files  from  archives,  ARCHandler  uses  the  'LhA' (© Stefan
  18. Boberg), both the evaluation and registered version work.
  19.  
  20. Major changes since release 2.0a:
  21.  
  22.  
  23. -Complete support for six actions:
  24.    ACTION_CREATE_DIR       [CreateDir()];
  25.    ACTION_DELETE_OBJECT    [DeleteFile()];
  26.    ACTION_RENAME_OBJECT    [Rename()];
  27.    ACTION_SET_COMMENT      [SetComment()];
  28.    ACTION_SET_DATE         [SetFileData()] and
  29.    ACTION_SET_PROTECT      [SetProtection()].
  30.  
  31. -Removed bug that was introduced in 2.0a: the number  of  archives  in  use
  32.  could become negative, this prevented ARCHandler from quitting.
  33.  
  34. -All windows and requesters are now build by my own layout engine. This has
  35.  resulted in some changes to the GUI.
  36.  
  37. -The archive preferences window now contains a cycle gadget to  select  the
  38.  type  of  archive  recognition:  filename, filename and contents, contents
  39.  only.
  40.  
  41. -LhA-archives with type 1 header weren't handled correctly.
  42.  
  43. -Changed FindCommand and PrefLanguage (commands used by Install script).  I
  44.  hope this fixes problems with the Install script and different shells.
  45.  
  46. -When there is a  problem  with  the  underlying  filesystem  ('volume  not
  47.  mounted',  'disk is full', ...) you should get the name of the volume with
  48.  the problem (instead of 'Volume Archives is write protected').
  49.  
  50. -FromARC didn't work, fixed.
  51.  
  52. -Danish and Finnish translations.
  53.
